 Internet Authoring
Certificate Program

The Internet Authoring certificate program is designed first and foremost to help students obtain the skills necessary to successfully gain employment which requires knowledge and capabilities involving the Internet and Web development. This program provides students with the opportunity to complete an A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems and/or earn a Certificate from the State of California in Internet Authoring. Below you will find a listing of the courses you will need to complete in order to receive either the A.S. degree and/or the state certificate. Internet Authoring Course Requirements

State Certificate  A.S. Degree
Required Courses In order to receive a Computer Information Systems A.S. degree in Internet Authoring, in addition to the MSJC general education requirements you must also complete the 9 required units and 6 elective units listed under the State Certificate column plus the following three courses:

CSIS 101: Introduction to Computers and Data Processing (3 units)
CSIS 201: System Analysis and Design (3 units)
CSIS 202: Networks and Data Communications (3 units) 
CSIS 103: Introduction to the Internet (3 units)
CSIS 115a: Web Development - Level 1 (3 units)
CSIS 125a: Web Development - Level 2 (3 units)
Elective Courses 1 (Choose 3 units)
CSIS 114a: SQL Programming - Level 1 (3 units)
CSIS 115b: XML Design - Level 1 (3 units)
Elective Courses 2 (Choose 3 units)
CSIS 116b: Developing ASP.NET Web Applications (3 units)
CSIS 116d: PHP Web Development (3 units)
